How To Watch NFL Streams - Watch NFL Live

We all know that watching the entire NFL season is quite a complicated affair. Most cable providers and steaming services don’t show all of the games and subscriptions can get expensive fast.

In most places, the average household pays around $80 every single month for cable TV which doesn't even include all of the necessary sport packages to actually watch NFL games live. Adding these extra sports channels will result in a monthly bill in the $110 - $130 mark. Streaming services that show the NFL on the other hand, while cheaper, will still be at least $50 a month.

And guess what - neither option will even give you access to all of the games thanks to the ridiculous nature of NFL game rights and the blackout laws in different countries.

In another part of the world... Canada, where the NFL isn’t as popular, they get every NFL game by watching the NFL network channel. Yes, that’s every single regular season NFL game for $8.25 a month…

This includes all Monday, Thursday, Sunday afternoon, Sunday night NFL streams and every playoff matchup each season - all in one place.

Traditional Cable - Is it the best way to watch NFL?

It’s reliable, quick and has all of the TV and sports you might want - is it the best option to watch NFL?

Although cable providers were historically the best (and usually only) option for live sports in the past, the recent meteoric rise of streaming services has made customers realize there are many drawbacks to watching and paying for traditional cable.

They have poor customer service (if any at all), usually lock large amounts of content behind extra monthly fees, they don’t always show all of the games in a given season, and the biggest offender? The price.

All in all, while cable providers still allow a fairly user-friendly easy way to watch the NFL live season, they are certainly not the best option around - especially when it comes to pricing and availability of games.

Streaming Services - Best in class NFL streams

The explosion in new sports centric streaming services over the last few years has put everyone on the edge of their seats - as you might guess, the more services allow you to watch NFL, the more competition there is between them and the better their services get as a result.

While there are many services that offer NFL streams worldwide, we decided to focus on the ones that provide the highest quality and have the overall best streaming platforms.

DAZN Canada

You may have heard about DAZN if you’ve been looking into boxing- but in Canada, it’s one of the largest sports streaming services with coverage of the NFL, MLB and most major European football leagues and championships.

DAZN is the best pick in terms of NFL. They stream every single game from the regular season for no additional cost with no blackouts whatsoever.

Just like the rest of the competition, DAZN shows their NFL stream at 720p/60fps to match the current standard.

Sling TV (Orange + Blue)

Sling TV is one of the veterans in the Live TV streaming market in the US. They were one of the first to challenge cable providers and try to beat them at their own game.

Instead of streaming NFL directly, sling streams the US live TV channels that show those games.

Sling TV has 2 base subscription packages to choose from if you want to watch NFL:

  • Sling Orange - NFL streams available on ESPN
  • Sling Blue - NFL streams available on on Fox, NBC and the NFL Network

To get the most complete NFL coverage you will need to combine both for $45.

While Sling TV is definitely cheaper than cable TV, keep in mind that like cable it does not show every single one so you will still be missing out.

Sling TV matches NFL streaming quality with their competition with 720p sports streams at 60fps.

Hulu Live TV

Hulu exploded a few years ago as one of the first major movie and TV streaming service along with Netflix. A few years ago they decided to step into the Live TV market and offer a similar service that streams the various US live TV channels. Among them ones that show the NFL Playoff’s, Monday Night Football and Superbowl Sunday.

Hulu partners with live TV networks to show NFL streams on FOX, ESPN, NBC, and CBS. To stream NFL Redzone you’ll need to pay an additional $10 a month on top of the Hulu $65/month Live TV subscription.

An advantage Hulu currently has is the quality of some of its content. Hulu streams most live events at 720p/60 fps and select channels (on compatible devices) at 1080p/60fps.Unfortunately for Hulu, they also suffer from the same regional blackouts that the entire US sports market has to deal with.

Fubo TV

Fubo's rise to fame came directly from sports to begin with. First and foremost, Fubo is a live sports streaming service and a Live TV service second.

Fubo broadcasts their NFL streams at 720p/60fps like most major sports networks and they actually show (almost) the entire NFL season as part of the same package. As per usual, to watch NFL Redzone you’ll need to get your wallet out again with $11/month on top of the $65/month base package.

Fubo can be summed up as “almost perfect” - but unfortunately they too, can’t compete when it comes to blackouts.
