How much does Sky Sports cost in 2026/27?

Sky Sports starts at £35/month on a 24-month Sky Stream deal, but that price covers only 215 Premier League matches. Add TNT Sports and you can spend from around £60/month on contract, yet still miss around 110 Saturday 3pm kick-offs across the season.

The short answer is that Sky Sports is not one price. What you pay depends on whether you are a new customer, already have Sky TV, want a contract, or need TNT Sports too.

What Sky Sports costs in 2026/27

The cheapest advertised answer to how much does Sky Sports cost is Sky Stream with Sports at £35/month on a 24-month term for new customers. That includes Essential TV and Netflix, with no upfront fees. It is not available alongside other offers or to existing Sky Sports subscribers.

For someone building a package from scratch, that £35/month figure is the simplest Sky Sports subscription cost to compare. Over a year, it is about £420. The trade-off is the 24-month commitment, and the package gives you Sky's minimum 215 live Premier League games, not every fixture.

Sky Sports as an add-on

If you already have Sky TV, the current Sky Sports Complete add-on is £22/month extra on a 24-month term. This is promotional pricing. At the end of the term, it becomes £35/month on Sky Stream or Sky Glass, or £38/month on Sky Q.

Sky Essential TV on its own is £15/month on a 24-month contract. On rolling terms, Essential TV is £18/month and Sky Sports is £35/month extra, making the Sky Sports monthly cost £53/month. That is the realistic out-of-contract Sky Stream or Sky Glass figure, rather than the headline £35 add-on alone.

Sky's pricing is heavily personalised, so logged-in customers may see different figures. Check the renewal and reversion pricing before accepting an offer, particularly where the cost of a Sky Sports package is discounted at the start of a term.

What Sky Sports does not include

Sky Sports carries a minimum of 215 Premier League matches in 2026/27. It does not include TNT Sports' 52 matches, and it cannot show the Saturday 3pm closed-period fixtures. The 2026/27 Premier League season runs from Friday 21 August 2026 to Sunday 30 May 2027.

TNT Sports and NOW: prices, coverage and gaps

How much does TNT Sports cost on Sky?

The cost of TNT Sports on Sky is £34/month extra on a 31-day rolling subscription. You can cancel anytime with 31 days' notice. TNT Sports carries 52 live Premier League matches a season, including exclusive Saturday 12:30pm coverage.

Bought separately, TNT Sports is now available through HBO Max UK. It costs £30.99/month, or £25.99/month on the 12-month saver. TNT moved from Discovery+ to HBO Max in March 2026, so HBO Max is where you subscribe now.

Sky Sports and TNT Sports together start from around £60/month on a discounted 24-month contract that includes the TV base. On rolling 31-day terms, the £69/month figure is add-on charges only, on top of a Sky TV subscription. Including the rolling base, the real figure is closer to £87/month.

TNT fills 52 matches that Sky does not carry, but it still does not show the Saturday 3pm closed-period games. Sky and TNT together cover 267 of 380 matches.

Cost of Sky Sports on NOW

NOW carries the Sky Sports channels, so it shows the same minimum 215 Premier League matches as Sky Sports. NOW Sports costs £34.99/month on a flexible membership, or £27.99/month on a 12-month saver. The saver reverts to the standard £34.99/month when the term ends.

For one day, NOW Sports Day Membership costs £14.99 for 24 hours. It covers a day's available sports rather than one individual match, so it is useful for occasional viewing but does not belong in a season-long cost comparison.

NOW's standard stream quality can be upgraded with Boost for £6/month, which adds 1080p, two streams and ad-free viewing. Ultra Boost costs £9/month and is required for 4K. NOW does not include TNT Sports, so even at its cheapest it leaves you without TNT's 52 Premier League fixtures and the Saturday 3pm matches.

Some fans remember Amazon Prime Video as a lower-cost piece of the Premier League picture. Its package is no longer part of the current arrangement. Our guide explains why Amazon's Premier League coverage went away.

What each route costs per Premier League match

Every UK route charges you for a full season and hands you part of one. Sky Sports gives you at least 215 of the 380 matches. TNT Sports gives you 52. NOW resells the same Sky channels, so it gives you the same 215 again. None of them can sell you the remaining 110 at any price, because no UK broadcaster is permitted to show them.

That makes the monthly price the wrong number to compare. What matters is what each route costs per match you can actually watch, and on that measure they stop looking similar. Every row below uses a full year of payments, including the TV subscription where one is required, and the stated minimum of 215 Sky matches.

Route Per year Matches Per match Anmerkungen
TOD via Jordan ⭐ ~£106 380 ~£0.28 £80 to TOD + £26 to StreamLocator on its two-year plan, £37 on one year. Every match, the 3pm kick-offs, La Liga. UCL in 2026/27.
NOW Sports, 12-month saver ~£336 215 ~£1.56 No TNT matches and no Saturday 3pm kick-offs.
Sky Stream with Sports, 24-month ~£420 215 ~£1.95 Needs a 24-month contract. No TNT matches and no 3pm kick-offs.
NOW Sports, flexible ~£420 215 ~£1.95 No TNT matches and no Saturday 3pm kick-offs.
Sky Sports and TNT Sports, 24-month bundle ~£720 267 ~£2.70 Still no Saturday 3pm kick-offs. Cheapest rate needs a contract.
TNT Sports standalone, 12-month saver ~£312 52 ~£6.00 Only 52 matches. No Sky matches and no 3pm kick-offs.
TNT Sports standalone, monthly ~£372 52 ~£7.15 Only 52 matches. No Sky matches and no 3pm kick-offs.

Three results stand out. First, NOW's 12-month saver is cheaper per match than Sky's own Sky Sports deal, about £1.56 against about £1.95, while carrying the same 215 games. Second, TNT on its own is the weakest season-long value, at about £6.00 to £7.15 per match, because 52 games is a thin package for £25.99 to £30.99 a month.

Third, spending more does not close the main gap. Sky provides at least 215 matches and TNT provides 52, so 215 + 52 = 267 of 380. That leaves around 110 games unavailable, almost all during the Saturday 3pm closed period. Our Premier League 3pm blackout guide explains why even the ~£720 annual Sky and TNT bundle cannot legally show those fixtures in the UK.

Under the current rights deal, every match outside that closed period is shown live in the UK. The closed period is the only reason a fixture is unavailable.

Around 110 matches a season are not for sale at any price

No UK subscription includes the Saturday 3pm kick-offs, however much you spend. TOD carries all 380 fixtures, and watching it from the UK is about £9/month across two separate subscriptions: TOD from £7, StreamLocator from £2.

A route that shows all 380 Premier League matches

TOD carries all 380 Premier League matches, including Saturday 3pm kick-offs, with English commentary. Its Standard plan streams in 1080p and costs about £9/month across two separate subscriptions: TOD from £7, StreamLocator from £2, which is about £106 across a season. Billed monthly instead, Standard is about £10/month across two separate subscriptions: TOD from £8, StreamLocator from £2. Premium is the same coverage in 4K, at about £11/month on an annual plan: TOD from £9, StreamLocator from £2. Billed monthly, Premium is about £13/month: TOD from £11, StreamLocator from £2. Both include La Liga, and the Champions League and Europa League in 2026/27.

TOD registration accepts any international card or PayPal. Fire TV Stick owners should note that TOD has no native Fire OS app. Use a browser or casting instead. That is a TOD limitation, not a StreamLocator one.

To access the official, licensed Jordanian TOD stream from the UK, StreamLocator acts as a streaming-built alternative to a VPN. StreamLocator does not replace the broadcaster subscription. Watching TOD from the UK is about £9/month across two separate subscriptions: TOD from £7, StreamLocator from £2 on its two-year plan.

Ordinary VPNs often fail with live sport because broadcasters actively detect and block known VPN address ranges. StreamLocator is built for streaming, works where ordinary VPNs get blocked, and is designed to avoid speed or quality loss for live sport. You can use it on smart TVs, consoles, streaming sticks, phones and browsers.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Sky Sports cost?

The cheapest advertised route is Sky Stream with Sports at £35/month on a 24-month term, which includes Essential TV and Netflix with no upfront fees. If you already have Sky TV, the Sky Sports add-on is currently £22/month on a 24-month term, reverting to £35/month on Sky Stream or Sky Glass and £38/month on Sky Q. Out of contract, Sky Sports is £35/month on top of your TV subscription.

What is the cheapest way to get Sky Sports?

NOW, on its 12-month Sports saver at £27.99/month. That carries the same Sky Sports channels as a Sky subscription, so the same minimum of 215 Premier League matches, and it works out cheaper per match than Sky's own Sky Sports deal. If you only want one match, a NOW Sports Day Membership is £14.99 for 24 hours.

How much does TNT Sports cost on Sky?

£34/month extra on a 31-day rolling subscription, cancel anytime with 31 days' notice. Bought separately instead, TNT Sports through HBO Max UK is £30.99/month, or £25.99/month on the 12-month saver. TNT moved from Discovery+ to HBO Max in March 2026.

Can I get Sky Sports without a contract?

Yes, through NOW. A flexible Sports Membership is £34.99/month with no minimum term, and a Sports Day Membership is £14.99 for 24 hours. Sky's own rolling option is £35/month for the Sports add-on on top of your TV subscription, which comes to about £53/month with the rolling Essential TV base.

How much does Sky Sports cost per Premier League match?

Sky Stream with Sports at £35/month is £420 a year for a minimum of 215 matches, which is about £1.95 a match. Sky's discounted bundle of Sky Sports and TNT Sports together, from around £60/month on a 24-month contract, is roughly £720 a year for 267 matches, about £2.70 each. Adding TNT to a Sky Sports subscription on rolling terms instead costs more, not less. Neither route includes the roughly 110 Saturday 3pm kick-offs, because no UK broadcaster is permitted to show them.

Is StreamLocator a replacement for a Sky Sports subscription?

No, and it is not a subscription to football either. StreamLocator is the access layer that lets you reach a broadcaster licensed in another country, from about £2/month. You still pay that broadcaster, so watching all 380 Premier League matches on TOD is about £9/month across two separate subscriptions: TOD from £7, StreamLocator from £2. StreamLocator does not resell or include anyone's streaming service. The upside is that it is not tied to one provider, so the same access works with TOD, F1 TV, MLB.TV, Peacock and the other services we support.

Abschließende Gedanken

Sky's £35/month starting price looks straightforward until you compare contracts, add-ons, renewal prices and the number of matches each route actually includes. NOW can be a better value route to the same Sky games, but neither it nor a Sky and TNT bundle covers the Saturday 3pm gap.

If you want every Premier League fixture in one official service, TOD covers all 380, while StreamLocator lets you access it from the UK. Watching it is about £9/month across two separate subscriptions: TOD from £7, StreamLocator from £2. Start with the free seven-day trial, check the setup on your preferred device, and decide which viewing route makes sense before committing to a long Sky contract.
